In this project, my primary focus was on developing tools for the team. I collaborated closely with sound designers throughout the project to create a tool that streamlined the implementation of sounds in the game. This tool allowed for managing volume, curves for fading In/Out, and specialized sounds, enhancing the overall audio experience. Working closely with different teams was an amazing experience that allowed for a deep understanding of each other's roles.
Another significant task was developing the localization system using an XML file. While challenging to grasp initially, I successfully managed and implemented it, ensuring that the game could be easily localized for different regions, enhancing its accessibility.
One of the key contributions was the development of a curve system for placing collectibles in levels. This system allowed for the instantiation of collectibles on a curve and the creation of multi-row placements, significantly simplifying the level design process and improving efficiency.
Despite the main platform being mobile, I also handled controllers for computers, ensuring a seamless experience across different platforms using the strategy pattern.
Additionally, I implemented various gameplay systems, such as traps, adding depth and challenge to the game environment. I also played a significant role in coding the gravity system, adding parameters to make it easier to use in Unity. Managing gravity was particularly challenging, as some areas had their own gravity that affected the player differently. However, with careful planning and execution, we were able to overcome this challenge and deliver a polished gameplay experience.
